Schedule A: Fare and Fee Schedule
1. Introduction and Acceptance
1.1 These Terms of Service ("Terms") are a legally binding agreement between you and UNIRIDE (Pty) Ltd, a company registered in South Africa ("UniRide", "we", "us" or "our"). They govern your access to and use of the UniRide customer app ("Uniride"), the UniRide Driver app ("UniRide Driver"), our websites, kiosks, dashboards and all related services (together, the "Platform").
1.2 By creating an account, tapping "I agree", or accessing or using the Platform, you confirm that you have read, understood and accepted these Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, which forms part of this agreement. If you do not agree, you must not use the Platform.
1.3 These Terms are concluded electronically. In terms of the Electronic Communications and Transactions Act 25 of 2002 ("ECTA"), your electronic acceptance is as valid and binding as a handwritten signature.
1.4 Please read these Terms carefully. Some sections limit our liability or place obligations on you. We have drawn your attention to those provisions, and by accepting these Terms you confirm that you understand them.
1.5 We launch with e-hailing services. Food delivery and Shop and Deliver services will be added later. Sections 8 and 12 apply from the date those services go live in your area.
2. Definitions

- KYC: our "know your customer" identity and compliance verification process.
3. Our Role
3.1 We are a technology platform. UniRide operates a marketplace that connects Customers with independent Drivers, Customers with Restaurants, Restaurants with delivery Drivers, and Customers with Shoppers. We do not ourselves provide transport, delivery, shopping or food preparation services, and we are not a transport operator, courier or restaurant.
3.2 The transport or delivery contract is between the Customer and the Service Provider. When a Driver accepts a Trip, the Driver provides the transport service to the Customer. UniRide facilitates the booking, pricing and payment and acts as the Service Provider's limited payment collection agent.
3.3 Service Providers are independent. Drivers, Shoppers and Restaurants are independent third parties. They are not employees, partners, agents or joint venturers of UniRide. They decide whether, when and where they accept work, subject to these Terms and the quality and safety standards that apply to the Platform. UniRide does not direct or control how they perform the services.
3.4 No guarantee of availability. We do not guarantee that a Driver, Shopper or Restaurant will be available at any given time, in any area or at any price.
4. Eligibility and Accounts
4.1 Minimum age. You must be at least 18 years old to create an account or use the Platform. Children under 18 cannot hold an account. A child may travel only when accompanied by an adult or guardian who made the booking and is responsible for the child, including making sure the child wears a seatbelt.
4.2 Age misrepresentation. If we discover or reasonably suspect that you gave a false date of birth or are under 18, we may suspend your account immediately and ask for proof of age.
4.3 Accurate information. You must give accurate, current and complete information when you register, and keep it up to date. You may not register on behalf of someone else, create more than one account, or impersonate another person.
4.4 Account security. You are responsible for keeping your login credentials, one-time passwords and device secure and for all activity under your account. Tell us immediately at support@uniride.co.za if you suspect unauthorised use. You may not share, sell or transfer your account.
4.5 Legal capacity and compliance. You confirm that you have legal capacity to enter into these Terms and that your use of the Platform will comply with all applicable South African laws.
4.6 Student and campus campaigns. We may run promotions or campaigns for university or student communities. These campaigns do not change who may use the Platform, and any additional conditions will be shown with the campaign.
4.7 Organisation accounts. If you use the Platform under an organisation's account, you confirm that the organisation has authorised you to do so. The organisation's own terms with us also apply (see clause 10.11).
5. Verification (KYC) and Document Expiry
5.1 Service Providers must pass KYC before they can operate. We may require some or all of the following, depending on the role:
| Role | Documents and checks |
|---|---|
| Driver | Identity document, valid driver's licence, vehicle documents (registration and any permits required by law), police clearance or criminal record check, and bank statement |
| Shopper | Identity document, police clearance or criminal record check, and bank statement |
| Restaurant | Business details, food health and safety certificates, and bank statement |
5.2 Failed verification. If any required document or check is not provided, cannot be verified, or fails, your account will not be registered or activated.
5.3 Expiry and deactivation. You must keep your documents valid at all times. If a document expires, we will deregister your account and you will be unable to operate until you submit a valid replacement. We will send you reminders through the Platform 1 month, 1 week, 3 days and 1 day before the expiry date. You remain responsible for renewing on time even if you do not receive or read a reminder.
5.4 Ongoing checks. We may re-verify your documents, repeat background checks, and ask for updated information at any time to maintain safety and legal compliance.
5.5 Your consent. By submitting KYC information, you authorise us and our verification partners to verify it with the relevant authorities, institutions and databases, as described in our Privacy Policy.
5.6 Permits and licences. Drivers are responsible for holding every licence, permit and authorisation that South African law or the local transport authority requires for the services they provide, including any professional driving permit or operating licence that applies, and for keeping them valid.
6. Customer Obligations and Rules of Conduct
Our rules focus on safety, mutual respect and accountability. As a Customer you agree to the following.
6.1 Be ready on time. Track your Driver in the app and be ready at the pickup point. Do not keep your Driver waiting beyond the pickup window shown in the app. Waiting charges, cancellation fees and no-show charges may apply (Section 10).
6.2 Wear seatbelts. Every passenger must wear a seatbelt for the whole Trip. You may not carry more passengers than the vehicle has seatbelts or than the capacity of the Vehicle Class you booked.
6.3 Passengers. Only the person who booked the Trip and the guests they invited may travel in the vehicle. You are responsible for your guests' conduct.
6.4 Respect and personal space. You must not behave violently, threateningly, abusively or discriminatorily, and you must not harass, flirt with, make sexual advances to, or engage in sexual conduct toward any Driver, Shopper, Restaurant staff member or other person.
6.5 Prohibited items. You must not bring open alcohol, illegal substances, weapons, or anything unlawful or dangerous into a vehicle. You must not use the Platform to transport anything unlawful.
6.6 Damage and soiling. You are liable for damage to the vehicle caused by you or your guests, and for severe soiling or cleaning needs (for example, vomit or spills). We may charge a reasonable cleaning or repair fee to your payment method, subject to evidence supplied by the Driver.
6.7 Cancellations and no-shows. Excessive or late cancellations and no-shows waste Drivers' time. They can lead to fees, penalties, account blocks, and, for repeated no-shows, suspension for six months or permanently (Section 13).
6.8 No misuse. You must not misuse the Platform, including by submitting false complaints or fraudulent refund requests, manipulating GPS or pricing, using bots, interfering with the Platform's security, or using the Platform for any unlawful purpose.
6.9 Lawful use of ride-hailing. You must follow the Driver's reasonable safety instructions, and you must not ask the Driver to break traffic laws, exceed speed limits or take unsafe actions.
7. Driver and Shopper Obligations
7.1 Vehicle standards (Drivers). Your vehicle must be clean, roadworthy, safe and properly insured as required by law, with functioning air conditioning, valid registration and any permits required by the local transport authority. You must keep the vehicle matching the Vehicle Class and details registered on the Platform.
7.2 Safe driving. You must obey all traffic laws and speed limits, avoid using your phone while driving, and never drive under the influence of alcohol, drugs or any substance that impairs you.
7.3 No unauthorised passengers. You may not carry friends, family or any personal passengers during a Trip. Only the Customer who booked and their invited guests may travel in the vehicle.
7.4 Professional communication. Respect the Customer's preference for silence or conversation, and avoid overly personal, ideological, political, religious or argumentative topics.
7.5 Respect and non-discrimination. You must not discriminate against, harass, threaten or assault any Customer, and you may not engage in sexual conduct or advances toward Customers.
7.6 Accept and complete Trips properly. You must follow the route and instructions in the app, start Trips only when the Customer is boarded, and not take unnecessary detours. Trips started without the Customer on board ("unboarded starts") are prohibited.
7.7 Documents and honesty. You must keep your KYC documents valid (Section 5), report changes in your circumstances (such as vehicle changes or new criminal charges), and not provide false information.
7.8 Independent status and taxes. You are responsible for your own income tax, VAT (where applicable), vehicle costs, fuel, data, and any registrations or licences. UniRide does not withhold tax on your behalf unless the law requires it.
7.9 Performance standards. High cancellation rates, unboarded starts, serious complaints or low ratings can lower your tier on the Platform or lead to deactivation (Section 13).
7.10 Shoppers. If you shop and deliver for Customers, you must handle goods hygienically and securely, follow the Customer's instructions, check items against the order, handle age-restricted items lawfully, keep receipts where required, and deliver to the right person.
8. Restaurant Obligations
(Applies when food delivery goes live.)
8.1 You must comply with all food safety, hygiene, licensing and labelling laws and keep your health and safety certificates valid at all times (see Section 5).
8.2 You are responsible for the accuracy of menus, prices, allergen information and ingredient descriptions, the quality and safety of food, and timely preparation.
8.3 You must prepare orders in good time and make them ready for the delivery Driver. You must not hand over food that you know or suspect is unsafe.
8.4 Restaurants receive UniRide kiosks or access through the UniRide dashboard. You must use them only for their intended purpose and keep access credentials secure. Any equipment we supply remains subject to the terms agreed when it is supplied.
8.5 Commission, fees and payout terms for Restaurants are as set out in your onboarding agreement and the Restaurant dashboard.
9. Safety Features and Trip Recording
9.1 Safety tools. The Platform includes SOS, trip sharing, ride tracking and trip recording. You are encouraged to use them. They do not replace emergency services. In an emergency, contact the South African Police Service or other emergency services directly.
9.2 SOS. If you press SOS, we may share your location and Trip details with our safety team, your emergency contacts or emergency services.
9.3 Trip sharing and tracking. Customers may share live Trip details with trusted contacts. Trip locations are tracked from acceptance until completion.
9.4 Trip recording. The Platform can record audio during a Trip through your device's microphone. By using the Platform, Customers and Drivers consent to this recording for safety, fraud prevention, dispute resolution and legal compliance. Recordings are accessed only by authorised personnel and are handled as set out in our Privacy Policy. You must not make your own recordings and share them in ways that violate others' privacy or the law.
9.5 Law enforcement. We may share recordings, location data and Trip information with law enforcement or regulators where the law allows or requires it.
10. Fares, Fees and Payments
10.1 How fares are calculated
For ride-hailing, the Fare is calculated from:
Base fare + (distance Γ per-kilometre rate) + (time Γ per-minute rate) + applicable extras (Section 10.5) + any toll amount + any surge multiplier
The rates depend on the Vehicle Class you choose. Current rates are in Schedule A and are always shown in the app before you confirm a booking.
10.2 Quotes
You will be shown an estimated Fare before you book. The final Fare may differ from the estimate if the route, destination, number of stops or Trip duration changes, if you cause extra waiting time, or if road conditions change the Trip time. Where the Fare changes because you changed the Trip, the changes are charged as set out in this Section.
10.3 Surge pricing
When demand in an area is higher than the number of available Drivers, we may apply a surge multiplier to the Fare. The multiplier is based on real-time supply and demand and is capped at 3 times the normal Fare. The surge multiplier will be shown in the app before you confirm your booking. By confirming the booking, you agree to pay the surged Fare.
10.4 Tolls
If your route passes through toll gates, the toll amount is based on current South African toll prices and is included in the Fare quoted to you. You do not pay tolls separately to the Driver. UniRide transfers the toll amount to a just-in-time (JIT) card that we provide to Drivers, and this card works only at toll gates. Drivers may not use toll funds for anything else.
10.5 Extra charges
| Charge | Amount |
|---|---|
| Each additional stop | R5 |
| Mid-ride change (a change of destination or route after the Trip has started) | R10 |
| Cancellation fee | R20 |
| Waiting time (after 5-minute grace period) | R1.50 per minute |
Amounts are in South African Rand (ZAR) and may be updated as set out in Section 22.
10.6 Waiting time
You have a 5-minute grace period at the pickup point and at each stop. After the grace period, waiting time is charged at R1.50 per minute until the Trip starts or continues. Waiting time is added to your Fare.
10.7 Cancellations
(a) Customer cancellations. You may cancel a booking free of charge within 5 minutes of a Driver accepting it. If you cancel after the 5-minute window has passed, a R20 cancellation fee applies.
(b) Driver cancellations. If a Driver cancels after accepting a booking, you are not charged. We will help you find another Driver.
(c) Fee distribution. After deducting our commission and any payment processing costs, cancellation fees are paid to the affected Driver as compensation for their time and costs.
10.8 No-shows
If your Driver arrives at the pickup point and waits through the pickup window shown in the app, and you do not show up or cannot be reached, the Driver may mark you as a no-show and end the Trip. A R20 no-show charge will be deducted from your next Trip. Repeated no-shows may lead to suspension for six months or permanently (Section 13).
10.9 Payment methods
We accept:
- Debit and credit cards, processed by our payment gateway, Paystack;
- Wallet balance, funded by a card deposit; and
- Organisation billing, where you are signed up and authorised by an organisation that we bill directly.
Fares are charged to your selected payment method when the Trip is completed (or, if applicable, when a cancellation fee, no-show charge or damage fee is incurred). You authorise us to charge your payment method for all amounts due under these Terms.
10.10 Card and payment security
Card details are collected and stored by Paystack in accordance with its own terms and applicable security standards. UniRide does not store your full card details. By paying, you also accept Paystack's terms. If a payment fails, we may suspend your access until the balance is settled and may try the payment again.
10.11 Wallet and organisation billing
(a) You may fund your Wallet by card deposit. Wallet funds can be used only for Platform services and do not earn interest.
(b) If you use an organisation account, the organisation is responsible for Fares authorised under that account. We may bill the organisation, and you must use the organisation account only for authorised purposes. If the organisation does not pay, we may recover the amount from you where the organisation's terms or the law allow it.
10.12 Platform commission and driver earnings
(a) UniRide charges Service Providers a platform commission of 12% of the Fare for Trips and Orders completed through the Platform.
(b) The remainder of the Fare, after the commission and any amounts for which you are liable under these Terms (for example, tolls advanced via JIT card or cancelled-Trip adjustments), is paid out to the Service Provider according to the payout schedule shown in the UniRide Driver app.
(c) UniRide may adjust or withhold earnings where a Trip was fraudulent, a refund was lawfully issued, or an overpayment was made. The Service Provider will be told why.
10.13 Refunds and fare disputes
(a) If you believe a Fare is wrong, you must raise the dispute within 24 hours of the Trip ending, through the support screen in the app (select a subject, add a description and attach any relevant photos, video or other media) or by emailing support@uniride.co.za.
(b) We may extend the 24-hour window if you give a good reason for the delay, such as a medical emergency or other circumstances beyond your control. Please explain this when you lodge the dispute.
(c) We will investigate and may use Trip data, GPS, recordings and Driver and Customer statements. If the dispute is valid, we will refund or adjust the Fare. Refunds are issued to your original payment method or your Wallet.
(d) These timeframes do not limit any rights you have under the Consumer Protection Act 68 of 2008 ("CPA") that cannot lawfully be limited.
10.14 Taxes
Fares include VAT where applicable. Service Providers are responsible for their own tax obligations (clause 7.8).
10.15 Promotions
Promo codes, referral rewards and campaigns are subject to their specific conditions. They have no cash value, may not be combined unless stated, and may be withdrawn or cancelled in cases of misuse or fraud.
11. UniRide Send (Package Delivery)
11.1 UniRide Send lets a Customer send a package with a Driver. The Fare is calculated using the UniRide Send rates in Schedule A.
11.2 Prohibited items. You must not send anything illegal, stolen, hazardous, flammable, explosive, a weapon, a controlled drug, live animals, human remains, or anything the Driver reasonably believes to be unsafe or unlawful. Drivers may refuse or cancel a delivery if they suspect a package contains prohibited items, and may be required to report it.
11.3 Packaging and details. You are responsible for proper packaging, accurate descriptions, and correct pickup and drop-off details. You must be reachable by the Driver and the recipient must be ready to receive the package.
11.4 Value and risk. Do not send cash or items of high value. Our liability for lost or damaged packages is limited as set out in Section 17.
12. Food Delivery and Shop and Deliver Services
(Applies when these services go live in your area.)
12.1 Our role. For food Orders, UniRide connects Customers with Restaurants and Restaurants with delivery Drivers. For Shop and Deliver Orders, UniRide connects Customers with Shoppers. UniRide does not prepare, sell or inspect food or goods.
12.2 Fees. Delivery fares are calculated using the rates in Schedule A. Food Orders have a base delivery fare of R15 plus R5 per km. Grocery Orders have a base fare of R35 plus R6 per km plus a per-item fee shown in the app.
12.3 Order accuracy. The Restaurant or Shopper is responsible for the accuracy and quality of the Order. If an Order is wrong, missing items, or not as described, contact support within 24 hours with photos where possible, and we will deal with it under Section 10.13.
12.4 Allergens and dietary information. Customers with allergies or dietary needs must check the information provided by the Restaurant and confirm directly if unsure. UniRide does not guarantee allergen accuracy.
12.5 Age-restricted goods. Orders that include age-restricted items require valid proof of age on delivery. The delivery person may refuse delivery if proof of age is not provided or the recipient appears intoxicated.
12.6 Data sharing in deliveries. To complete Orders, we share Customers' names with delivery Drivers and Restaurants, and phone numbers between Drivers and Restaurants, as set out in Section 14.
12.7 Cancellations and refunds. An Order may be cancelled free of charge only before the Restaurant or Shopper starts preparing or shopping. After that, the cost of the work done may be charged.
13. Ratings, Suspension, Deactivation and Appeals
13.1 Ratings. Customers and Service Providers may rate each other after each Trip or Order. Ratings help us maintain quality. A Service Provider's tier or access may be affected by ratings, cancellation rates, unboarded starts and complaints.
13.2 Reasons we may suspend or deactivate. We may warn, restrict, suspend (temporarily or permanently) or deactivate your account if:
- you breach these Terms or our safety rules;
- you give false information, including misrepresenting your age or documents;
- you are a Customer with repeated no-shows or excessive or late cancellations;
- you are a Service Provider whose documents expire or fail verification;
- you are a Driver with high cancellation rates, unboarded starts or consistently low ratings;
- you engage in fraud, abuse, violence, harassment or discrimination; or
- we are required by law or a regulator to do so.
13.3 Repeated no-shows. Repeated Customer no-shows can lead to a six-month suspension or permanent removal.
13.4 Serious misconduct. Conduct involving violence, threats, sexual misconduct, serious criminal activity or other extreme misconduct may result in immediate and permanent deactivation without prior warning, and we may report it to the authorities.
13.5 Appeals. You may appeal a suspension or deactivation, unless it relates to violent or extreme misconduct. Appeals can be made through the support screen in the app or by emailing support@uniride.co.za with your account details and the reason you believe the decision should be reviewed. Appeals are most suitable for issues such as excessive cancellations or no-shows. We will review your appeal in good faith and tell you the outcome.
13.6 Effect. On suspension or deactivation you lose access to the Platform. Amounts owing remain payable. Amounts due to Service Providers for completed Trips and Orders will be paid out, less any lawful deductions.
13.7 Closing your account. You may close your account at any time by contacting support, subject to settling any amounts owed. We may retain data as required by law and as explained in our Privacy Policy.
14. Privacy and Your Data
14.1 Our Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, share, store and protect your personal information in line with the Protection of Personal Information Act 4 of 2013 ("POPIA"). In summary:
- Customers: we collect the details you enter at sign-up, plus location and microphone data collected by the app (including for trip recording). Card details are collected and stored by Paystack.
- Drivers and Shoppers: we collect your KYC information (see Section 5) and your location and microphone data.
- Restaurants: we collect only the information you supply during KYC.
14.2 What we share.
- Names are shared between Drivers and Customers so that you can identify each other.
- In food and shop deliveries, names are shared between delivery Drivers and Restaurants, and between delivery Drivers and Customers.
- Phone numbers are shared between Drivers and Restaurants so that orders can be completed.
- We share limited information with service partners such as Paystack and KYC providers, and with authorities where the law requires it.
14.3 Use of shared information. You may use another User's information only to complete the Trip or Order and must not store, misuse, share or contact that person afterwards for any other reason.
14.4 Your rights. You may ask us to access, correct or delete your personal information, object to certain processing, or lodge a complaint with the Information Regulator, in line with POPIA. Contact us at support@uniride.co.za.
15. Intellectual Property and Licence
15.1 The Platform, including its software, branding, logos, designs, text and data, belongs to UniRide or its licensors and is protected by intellectual property laws.
15.2 We grant you a limited, personal, revocable, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use the apps on your personal device for their intended purpose and in accordance with these Terms.
15.3 You may not copy, modify, reverse engineer, decompile, scrape, resell, sublicense or create derivative works of the Platform, or use our name or marks without written permission.
15.4 If you submit content (reviews, feedback, photos, complaint media), you grant us a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to use it to operate, improve and promote the Platform, subject to our Privacy Policy. You confirm you have the right to submit it.
16. Disclaimers
16.1 To the fullest extent permitted by law, the Platform is provided "as is" and "as available". We do not warrant that the Platform will be uninterrupted, error-free, secure or always accurate, including maps, ETAs and prices.
16.2 We do not guarantee the quality, safety, legality or timing of any Trip, delivery, shopping service, food or goods provided by Service Providers. We do not control and are not responsible for the acts or omissions of Service Providers or other Users.
16.3 Maps, directions, estimated times of arrival and traffic information are estimates only. Third-party data used in the Platform (such as maps and tiles) may contain errors.
16.4 We are not responsible for network outages, device failures, or delays caused by third parties such as payment processors, mobile networks or toll operators.
17. Limitation of Liability
17.1 To the maximum extent permitted by law, UniRide, its directors, employees, affiliates and agents are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for loss of profit, income, business, goodwill or data, arising out of or in connection with your use of (or inability to use) the Platform.
17.2 To the maximum extent permitted by law, UniRide is not liable for the acts, omissions, negligence or misconduct of Drivers, Shoppers, Restaurants, Customers or any third party, including for injury, death, loss or damage to property that occurs during or because of a Trip, delivery, Order or interaction.
17.3 Subject to clause 17.5, and to the extent permitted by law, if UniRide is found liable to you, our total liability for all claims arising from a single event is limited to the amount of the Fare you paid for the relevant Trip or Order.
17.4 Service Providers use the Platform at their own risk. UniRide is not responsible for Service Providers' vehicle costs, fines, penalties, fuel, data, personal injury, tax or loss of earnings.
17.5 Your statutory rights. Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits any liability, or any right you have, that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited under South African law, including under the CPA, for example liability for gross negligence, fraud, wilful misconduct, or any consumer right that cannot be waived.
18. Indemnity
To the extent permitted by law, you agree to indemnify and hold harmless UniRide, its directors, employees and affiliates from any claims, losses, damages, fines, costs and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of: (a) your breach of these Terms or the law; (b) your misuse of the Platform; (c) any content or information you submit; or (d) your conduct toward another person or their property. This does not apply to the extent that the loss was caused by our own gross negligence or wilful misconduct.
19. Incidents, Accidents and Lost Property
19.1 Accidents and incidents. If you are involved in an accident, injury, safety incident or crime, first ensure everyone's safety and call emergency services if needed. Then report the incident to us through the app's support screen or at support@uniride.co.za as soon as possible. You must cooperate with our investigation and with the authorities.
19.2 Insurance. Drivers are responsible for holding the motor vehicle, passenger liability and other insurance required by law and any transport authority. Any insurance that UniRide maintains is described in the app or on our website and is subject to its own terms and exclusions. Unless expressly stated, nothing in these Terms promises that insurance applies to a particular incident.
19.3 Lost property. If you leave an item in a vehicle, contact the Driver through the app or contact support. Drivers should return found items reasonably promptly. We may charge a reasonable fee for the Driver's time and trip to return the item. We are not responsible for lost or damaged items.
20. Complaints and Dispute Resolution
20.1 Lodging a complaint. You may submit a complaint with any relevant photos, video or other media:
- in the app: go to the Support screen, choose a subject, add a description and attach any media; or
- by email: support@uniride.co.za.
20.2 Our process. We will acknowledge your complaint, investigate it and try to resolve it fairly and promptly.
20.3 Mediation screening. If a dispute proceeds to litigation, the parties must comply with Rule 41A of the Uniform Rules of Court (High Court) or Rule 72 of the Magistrates' Courts Rules, as applicable, and must say at the start of the litigation whether they agree to attempt mediation.
20.4 Courts. Disputes that are not resolved informally may be brought before the South African courts, being the Magistrates' Court for lower-value or regional claims and the High Court for larger commercial matters. Matters involving consumer rights, employment or public law may also be dealt with by the appropriate tribunals or statutory bodies. You may approach the National Consumer Commission or other applicable regulator at any time.
21. Governing Law and Jurisdiction
21.1 These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa, including the Consumer Protection Act 68 of 2008, the Electronic Communications and Transactions Act 25 of 2002, the Protection of Personal Information Act 4 of 2013, and the common law of contract.
21.2 Subject to Section 20 and to your statutory rights, you consent to the jurisdiction of the South African courts, including the Magistrates' Courts, in respect of any dispute arising from these Terms.
22. Changes to These Terms
22.1 We may update these Terms, Schedule A (including fares, fees and commission) and our Privacy Policy from time to time, for example to reflect new services, changes in law, or changes in our costs.
22.2 We will notify you of material changes through the app, by email or on our website before they take effect, and the "Effective date" above will be updated. Fare changes apply to bookings made after the change takes effect.
22.3 If you continue to use the Platform after the changes take effect, you accept the updated Terms. If you do not agree, you must stop using the Platform and may close your account.
23. General Provisions
23.1 Entire agreement. These Terms, the Privacy Policy, Schedule A and any specific terms referred to in them are the whole agreement between you and UniRide about the Platform.
23.2 Severability. If any provision is found to be invalid or unenforceable, it will be severed or limited to the minimum extent needed, and the remaining provisions stay in force.
23.3 No waiver. Our failure to enforce any right is not a waiver of that right.
23.4 Assignment. You may not transfer your rights or obligations under these Terms. We may assign ours to a group company or a successor to our business.
23.5 Force majeure. We are not liable for failure or delay caused by events beyond our reasonable control, including natural disasters, power outages (including load shedding), network failures, strikes, civil unrest, pandemics or government action.
